About the event

Learn how to transform raw black soap into creamy black soap while making Ifa medicine.

This is a live, face-to-face class with limited enrollment. Attendees will make a batch of softened black soap in which herbs and other materials will be added to make Ifa medicine. This class requires the purchase of approximately $5-$10 additional materials.

We are going to have lots of fun. Please wear clothes that you can get messy and bring the following items to class:

  • raw black soap - this soap should be brittle and dry. It is normally sold in brick forms wrapped in cling wrap or in wide conical shape covered with brown craft paper. Don't get any kind that is softened with shea butter or other oils.
  • form-fitting disposable gloves (nitrile or latex type) 3 - 5 pairs are ideal
  • an old towel OR a roll of paper towels

A NEGATIVE COVID test (rapid or PCR) is required to attend. The TEST DATE must be taken within 48 HOURS of the class (Feb 24th - Feb 25th). Send your results to sistashaman@gmail.com, text 678-887-9360, or bring a copy of the results to class with you.

If you feel sick, STAY HOME. if your nose is running and you think it's allergies, STAY HOME. if you know that you have been exposed to COVID even if you feel okay, please STAY HOME. We will reschedule to attend another class this Spring or you can use the class fee towards another service.
